In 2002 and 2003 I traveled through the USA and became fascinated by the visually modernity landscapes and contrasts of this super power. During my trips, I made drawings and notes in pocket size sketchbooks. With a 0,5 mm fine liner refill pencil and some watercolors and color pencils, while walking through airports and streets, sitting in bars or riding Greyhound through this expansive country. For a short period I was traveling in a car with a friend and work some bigger canvasses in acrylic paint. This page and the underlying links report from the work done in 2002 and 2003.

In 2004, I travel in a camper packed with gear through the USA for two periods of several months, drawing and painting landscapes and people in the politically charged election year.  Read more
